What kind of rider are you?

I started riding for fitness at the beginning of lockdown 2020. I wanted to keep my fitness up and to be outside. It soon became more than that and now I like to challenge myself, whether it’s outside battling the elements or on my turbo at home. The other part that’s grown for me is riding with a group, I really enjoy riding with others socially; they challenge me too.

How often do you ride?

I ride about four times a week, but with the club once or twice on Thursdays and Sundays. The Sunday ride is my favourite as we really test ourselves and get to explore further and faster than I would by myself. Plus stopping for tea and cake is a happy bonus!

Why do you ride?

I ride for fitness and for the love of riding. It’s lovely how sociable cycling is as well. Being part of a club like this has brought me new friends and also improved my riding greatly. It’s given me more confidence on the roads and to ride further afield while I’m out.

Do you have any cycling targets this year?

To improve my strength and speed on the bike, to improve my road craft and just to have fun. Would also love to go away on a cycling trip with Forge as soon as that’s possible. I’ve never been on one and it’s definitely something that’s on the to do list!

When you’re not cycling, what do you get up to?

When I’m not on my bike, I can either be found at home being a Mum to my two little girls or busy working and being creative as a florist nearby while they’re at school!
