Racing is fun, but it’s even more fun when you get to do it wearing your country’s colours on your back. And that’s exactly what 3 of our supersonic Forge members did this year, heading to World Championships of the Gravel and Gran Fondo varieties.
On Sunday 7th September, around 30 Forgers descended upon the New Forest for a day of gravel and road goodness. Meeting early in Sainsbury car park in Kingston, two vans packed as many bikes as they could and several drivers set off towards the south coast.
Sunday 23rd March saw the second running of the Tour de Forge, our way of riding together as a club. Aided by dry and warm conditions 57 of us gathered for our 3-stage, 3-routes per stage, 2-coffee stops and 1-pub ride.

November marks the anniversary of our joining British Cycling and becoming a real club, so it’s only right that we mark our 4th birthday with a little summary of the year and some general back-patting.

One sunny (mainly) weekend in September, an adventurous Forge group made a trip to the Isle of Purbeck for some new cycling challenges.
Four blimey. A quadruple of Forge have only gone and qualified for the 2023 UCI World Fondo Championships. And Bex C even claimed a podium in the 19-34 Women’s event!
Forge has so much going on. So, what does a month in the life of a fast-growing, fun, and friendly bike club look like?
Belgium in the spring; single digit temperatures, driving rain, whipping wind across Flemish flat land… What’s not to love?
What a fantastic early season for our Forge racers. We had it all; two victories, one podium, two top 10s, a debut, a move-up in category and all the delights in between.
It’s a year to be proud, says our Club Chair Paddy O.I’m so proud to be a member of Forge London CC. And I’m even prouder to be the Chair of Forge. Well, why wouldn’t I be? It’s a great club.

Ruben Q is Forge’s man of steel after he smashed his personal challenge of competing the full distance Ironman course in Gdynia, Poland in August – and within his best target time too.
