I like a bit of everything from my cycling – seeing new places, spending time with like-minded folks on social rides, structured training to improve my racing, challenging myself – but mostly it’s the sheer joy of being outside!
Forge London is made up of riders from all abilities and backgrounds. We have members from across the South West London area including: Chertsey, Kingston, New Malden, Putney, Richmond, Teddington and Twickenham.
We have newbies, old hands, racers, dedicated club riders, triathletes, social riders and a sprinkling who have been every one of these. The thing they have in common is remembering their first ride for a new club.
We know joining may feel like a big step but a friendly face, a word of encouragement and the chance to go further, find new places and meet great people is never far away at Forge.
So, let’s meet some of them.
I like a bit of everything from my cycling – seeing new places, spending time with like-minded folks on social rides, structured training to improve my racing, challenging myself – but mostly it’s the sheer joy of being outside!
I have cycled most of my life but took up road cycling seriously after being inspired by the London 2012 Olympics Games and the success of the British team.
Before joining Forge I had been commuting to work by bike and was a member of a social cycling club. I wanted to improve my riding technique and fitness, and meet more like-minded people.
I began taking cycling a little more seriously around three years ago after commuting by bike for a couple of months. Since then my competitiveness has got the better of me and I started training in a more structured way and then racing in local criterium races in 2021.
I love outdoor sports, and I bought my first road bike back in 2017 when I was living in Barcelona.
